About Kashafa

This Is Not Just a Program.

It started with families asking a simple question — and an answer that came from the first word Allah ever revealed. One word. One program. A generation transformed.

The Mission

Grounded in ʿIlm.
Disciplined by ʿAmal.
Driven by Khuluq.

Every decision we make — every lesson, every expedition, every requirement — runs through three filters: Does this build knowledge? Does it produce action? Does it form character?

The Prophet ﷺ said: "The best of you is the one who learns the Quran and teaches it." Kashafa takes that charge seriously — not just the Quran, but everything it calls us to be.

عِلْم
Knowledge
ʿIlmKnowledge
Every expedition begins with knowing. We teach cadets the deen they were born into — not as ritual, but as understanding.
عَمَل
Action
ʿAmalAction
Knowledge without action is dead weight. We build cadets who do — who lead service, who solve problems, who show up.
خُلُق
Character
KhuluqCharacter
In the end, what remains is character. The Prophet ﷺ said he was sent to perfect noble character. That is the mission.
Why Kashafa

Built Different. On Purpose.

Structure over improvisation
Every lesson is planned. Every level has requirements. Cadets know where they are and where they're going. Growth demands structure.
Character as curriculum
The 27 Islamic values we teach aren't a poster on a wall — they're lived, tested, and built into every expedition and every interaction.
Salah as a milestone
Every cadet must complete Salah Camp to advance. Prayer is not optional. It's the foundation everything else is built on.
Three expeditions, one mission
Iqra. STEM. Kashafa. Each addresses a different dimension of a complete Muslim — mind, hands, and heart.
A community, not a class
Cadets come back because they belong here. We build a culture where Islamic identity is a source of pride, not something to hide.
Accountability built in
Levels, requirements, approvals. We take this seriously — and we expect families to as well. That's not a barrier. That's the point.
Our Story

Where the Expedition Began

It started with a question from families and friends — and an answer that came from the very first word Allah ever revealed.

اقْرَأْ

The first word revealed. The word that shaped scholars, scientists, and civilization. The word Kashafa was built on.

'24
2024 · The Call
Families and friends began reaching out — asking about a halaqah for their children. The need was unmistakable. The path forward was not yet clear.
'24
2024 · One Word
By Allah's mercy, the answer came through the first word ever revealed: Iqra — Read. The program launched with a single track, Citrons of the Quran, inspired by that first wahi. The same word that ignited a civilization, shaped scholars and scientists and community leaders across fourteen centuries, became the name, the method, and the mission.
'26
2026 · Kashafa
What began with one word grew into three expeditions. The same spirit — a fuller structure. Iqra grounds the mind. STEM builds the hands. Kashafa forges the character. The expedition that started with a single ayah now carries a generation.

Who's Behind Kashafa

Mohamed Kiswani
Founder & President

Mohamed Kiswani

Mohamed's journey with knowledge began at 12 — a path that led him through six rigorous years of traditional Islamic study, completing the Quran at 16, and earning a Shariah degree and an Ijazah in Hafs and Shu'ba Qira'at with an unbroken chain of transmission. Back in the U.S., he spent seven years teaching Quran, Arabic, and Islamic studies, helped launch Dearborn's first Muslim youth camp, served as Imam across multiple states, and earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Wayne State. His career led him into cybersecurity, building teams and security architecture internationally — while never stepping away from mentoring youth.

Kashafa grew from one father's conviction: he wanted his three children to connect deeply with the deen, love it deeply, and live by it. That's the program he built — and he believes every Muslim child deserves the same.

"Whoever does good — male or female — while having faith, We will surely bless them with a good life." — An-Nahl 16:97
